Indian Documents

Do your Indian documents require legalisation for another country? Vital Consular are on hand to help.

Attesting a document for any country can be difficult because of how the process can vary when attesting different types of documents for different countries. An Indian birth certificate being attested for the UAE won't have the same process as a South African Degree Certificate being attested for Kuwait, for example.

Vital Consular can take your Indian documents and legalise them for use for any country in the world. We can legalise any officially issued Indian Certificate if required, such as birth, marriage and death certificates, as well as educational documents. The general process for attesting a document from India is as below.

Please note: We are currently unable to process Indian education documents for use in Saudi Arabia. For more information please get in touch.

How It Works

To attest your Indian Documents, we will require both the original certificate and a copy of your passport.

  • Send us your documents or have them collected by our specially allocated couriers.
  • We'll have them sent safely to India, where three things will happen:
  1. The document will need to be attested at the respective state department, depending on the type of document it is, or at the Home Department in Mumbai.
  2. Then, your document will be sent to the Ministry of External Affairs, where a Certificate of Legalisation will be applied to the front page.
  3. Thirdly, your document will be sent to the relevant Embassy in New Delhi, where the legalisation process will end.
  • Finally, your document will be returned to the country it is being legalised for, where any further legalisation that is needed will take place, before being sent back to you (or anywhere else you might need), safe and sound.

This process may differ depending on the kind of document you're trying to attest. For example, educational documents must have a certified copy produced before they can be sent to be legalised. Certain documents may need to be sent to the Court of Appeal, rather than the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The document may also need translating and notarising before it is accepted in certain countries. Please contact us with your requirements, and we'll work hard to find the best solution for you.
